He Who Delights

The Lord delights in His people. We read that in the psalms. Could this be the joy in the very heart of Christ? Could this be what He has come to share with us, the delight of the Father known by the one who prays.

I often ponder why Christ has come to us - what was the purpose of His coming in the flesh. And I keep coming back to the time when His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray.

He taught them to pray the Our Father, and taking them deeper on other occasions said to them, “and your Father who sees in secret will repay you in secret.” What is this repayment? It is the delight of the Father dwelling in the heart of that person. +
